Secrets to Good Camping

Camping Secrets : The joys of camping are numerous. Being thrust into nature in the great outdoors provides many natural pleasures. Remembering my days as a girl scout, I remember the old fashioned tents with poles and spikes that took hours to put up as well as all of the heavy equipment we had to lug with us when we decided to move on and set up again elsewhere.

The largest downside, for me of camping (besides the mosquitoes) was sleeping on the floor of the tent with nothing but a sleeping bag between myself and the hard earth below. Camping cots would have made the experience much more enjoyable. Camping cots definitely did exist back then but they were large bulky things. They were heavy and hard to carry. The comfort value of your average 1970’s camping cot was questionable at the best of times.

You need to consider a few things before buying a cot to take with you. One is weight. If you are going hard core camping, meaning hiking and carrying everything without benefit of a car then you want camping cots that are relatively light. The last thing you want on your back is something that weighs a ton.
